Privacy Policy

Who we are
This website is run by Drift & Forge Pty Ltd (ABN 88 689 838 837), trading as Opposite Lock Slacks Creek (and previously as Adventure Offroad). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Drift & Forge Pty Ltd. We're an Opposite Lock store and we also sell and fit products from other brands, including Raxar, Carryboy, Redarc, Roadvision and Clearview.
We respect your privacy. We're committed to handling your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
• Contact details: your name, phone number, email address and postal or billing address.
• Vehicle details: make, model, year, registration (rego), VIN, and details of accessories fitted or requested.
• Quote, booking and job details: what you've asked us to quote, supply or fit, booking dates, job notes, photos of your vehicle, warranty claims and your purchase history.
• Payment details: what you paid, how and when. Card payments are processed by our payment providers. We don't keep full card numbers on our website.
• Messages and feedback: enquiries, emails, texts, social media messages and reviews you send us.
• Website and device information: such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and how you found us, collected through cookies and similar tools (see below).
If you don't give us some information, we may not be able to quote, book or fit your products, or process a warranty claim.
How we collect it
We mainly collect information directly from you when you:
• fill in an enquiry, quote or booking form on our website
• call, email, text or message us, or visit the store
• book a fitment, buy something, or create an account on our website
• fill in a lead form in one of our Facebook or Instagram ads
• respond to our ads, promotions or messages, or leave us a review.
We may also get information from third parties, such as Opposite Lock head office or other suppliers (for example, when a lead or warranty claim is passed to us), finance providers you've chosen to use, and social media and advertising platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google.
Why we use it
We use your personal information to:
• answer your enquiries and prepare quotes
• check that products suit your vehicle, then order, supply and fit them
• manage bookings, jobs, invoices and payments
• handle warranty claims, recalls and after-sales support
• send you service and booking messages, such as reminders and updates
• send you offers and news, where you've agreed or the law allows (see Marketing below)
• improve our website, products, service and advertising
• keep our accounts and records and meet our legal obligations.
Facebook and Instagram lead forms
When you fill in an instant form (lead form) in one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, Meta sends us the details you submit. These may include your name, phone number, email address, postcode, vehicle make and model, the product or service you're interested in, and your answers to any questions in the form. Meta may pre-fill some of these fields from your Facebook or Instagram profile, and you can edit them before you submit.
We use this information to contact you about your enquiry, prepare a quote or booking, and, if you've agreed, send you offers and news. We store these leads in our customer relationship system (Go High Level) and handle them in the same way as any other enquiry under this policy. You can ask us to stop contacting you or to delete your details at any time.
Meta's own handling of your information is covered by Meta's Privacy Policy.
Marketing and how to opt out
With your consent, or where the law otherwise allows, we may send you offers, promotions and news by email, SMS or other channels. We may also show you ads on platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Google.
We follow the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email or SMS will identify us and include a simple way to unsubscribe, such as an unsubscribe link or a "STOP" reply. You can also opt out at any time by contacting us. Opting out won't stop the service messages you need, such as booking confirmations or warranty updates.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information where it's needed for the purposes above, including with:
• Suppliers and manufacturers, including Opposite Lock head office and the brands we sell, to order parts, confirm fitment and process warranty claims or recalls
• Service providers that help us run the business, such as our website platform (Wix), our customer relationship and messaging system (Go High Level), our accounting software (Xero), email providers, and payment processors
• Advertising and analytics platforms, such as Meta and Google, to measure and target our ads
• Professional advisers, such as our accountant, insurer or lawyer
• Government and law enforcement, where the law requires or allows it.
We don't sell your personal information.
Overseas storage
Some of our service providers (including cloud-based software and advertising platforms) may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to use reputable providers that protect personal information.
Cookies and analytics
Our website is built on Wix. Like most websites, it uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work (for example, keeping items in a cart or keeping you signed in), to understand how people use it, and to help prevent spam and fraud.
We use the Meta Pixel (through Wix's Facebook advertising tools) to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform and to show our ads to people who've visited our site. We may also use other tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how our site is used. These tools may collect information like your IP address, device and pages viewed. They generally don't identify you by name to us.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work properly if you do. You can also manage ad preferences in your Facebook, Instagram and Google account settings.
Our website may link to other sites, such as Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram and supplier websites. We're not responsible for their privacy practices.
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. These steps include using reputable, secure software providers, limiting access to staff who need it, and keeping paper records in the store secure. When we no longer need information for any purpose, including legal and tax record-keeping, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
No website or online system is completely secure, so please contact us straight away if you think your information has been misused.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it's wrong, out of date or incomplete. Just contact us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. If we can't give you access or make a correction, we'll tell you why in writing, unless the law says we can't.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first, and we'll do our best to sort it out quickly. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
